Both BTS and TXT have made it to the top 10 selling albums of 2022 in the United States!
On January 11 local time, the American firm Luminate (formerly MRC Data), which supplies data for the Billboard charts, released its final report for 2022.
BTS’s anthology album “Proof” entered the 2022 US best-selling album chart (physical and digital sales combined) at No. 3, while TXT’s mini album “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” followed at No. 10.
Notably, BTS and TXT were out on the list of the best-selling albums in the United States (physical and digital sales combined) in more ways than one. Not only were they the only two Korean artists to make the top 10, but their albums were also the only two albums on the list not available on vinyl.
Since the sCongratulations to BTS and TXT!ales numbers for all other albums in the top 10 included not only digital downloads and CDs, but also vinyl LP sales, the inclusion of BTS and TXT albums is even more impressive—especially since vinyl albums in it surpassed CD album sales in the United States last year.
The top 10 best-selling albums of 2022 in the United States (physical and digital sales combined) are as follows:
- Taylor Swift – “Midnights” (1.818 million)
- Harry Styles – “Harry’s House” (757,000)
- BTS – “Proof” (422,000)
