
HYBE Entertainment is sending its two big artists, j-hope of BTS and the famous 4th generation boy group TXT to perform on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve at Rockin’ Eve in Times Square.
While j-hope may perform on the main stage in the middle of Times Square to celebrate the New York ball drop, TXT’s performance will be pre-recorded from Disneyland.
The BTS singer performed with his bandmates in 2017 and 2019, but this will be j-hope’s first solo performance. It will also be TXT’s first time performing at the biggest New Year’s event.
On December 6th, TXT announced their special appearance on the highly popular year-end show on Twitter. They promoted their performance with headline hits Good Boy Gone Bad and 0x1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You).
Ten days later, on December 16, j-hope announced his New Year’s plans via BTS’s official account to join the year-end lineup in Times Square.
In j-hope’s tweet, he mentioned that he will perform a three-song medley, starting with the popular song from his debut solo album Jack in the Box = (Equal Sign), followed by the fan-favorite collaboration Chicken Noodle Soup, and ending with his version of the group’s song Butter (Holiday Remix) .
Earlier this year, both acts were in the United States in July and were part of a music festival called Lollapalooza held in Chicago, where j-hope and his solo act made headlines with support from ARMY.
Fans from all over the world came to watch the Korean actors line up with other big names and make it big. Earlier this year, TXT attended the American Music Awards and received praise from international fans for their visuals and demeanor.
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest begins December 31st at 8:00 PM EST.
The year-end line-up is lined up with exciting artists such as Halle Bailey, Billy Porter, Ciara, Dove Cameron, Jessie James Decker, Bailey Zimmerman and many more. Ryan Seacrest is accompanied by famous YouTuber Liza Koshy as his co-host of this hot show.
2017 was one of the biggest years for the septet, performing at KCON Mexico, performing in Australia, becoming the first ever K-pop boy band to attend the Billboard Music Awards, and winning the Top Social Artist Award at said awards show.
They have also released numerous generational songs in collaboration with famous American artists, attended American live shows and released their BT21 merch. And at the end of the year, the group performed in the United States on New Year’s Eve Rockin’ Eve.
In 2019, BTS had their own distinct firsts, such as attending and being nominated for a Grammy and selling out 60,000 seats for two consecutive shows at Wembley Stadium. They even gave us BTS World, a brand new mobile game. They later added pop-up stores called House of BTS. The group was also nominated for three People’s Choice Awards in 2019.
In the same year, BTS became the first group to win all Daesangs at the Melon Music Awards. The group also won all four daesangs at the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards, making them the artist with the most Daesang wins in the history of the Mnet Asian Music Awards.
