tvN’s “Alchemy of Souls” shares an exciting new look at Part 2!
Written by the famous screenwriting duo known as the Hong Sisters, “Alchemy of Souls” is a fantasy romantic drama set in the fictional nation of Daeho, a land that does not exist in history or on maps. The drama tells the story of characters whose fates turn upside down as a result of magic that swaps human souls.
After the first part of the drama stole viewers’ hearts last summer, “Alchemy of Souls” is gearing up to make a comeback with Part 2, set three years after Part 1, next month.
The newly released trailer for Part 2 opens with Jang Wook (Lee Jae Wook) hinting at the guilt and despair that drove him to live in isolation. When Jang Wook is visited by a mysterious woman who pushed everyone away and built a wall between herself and the world, he dejectedly tells her, “I failed to protect even one person I promised to protect. How could I protect anything?”
Meanwhile, Seo Youl (Hwang Minhyun) tearfully hugs her first love Nak Soo (Go Yoon Jung) as she declares, “Something happened that I have to take care of. This time it’s my burden to bear.”
The preview then continues with a brief look at the unfortunate couple Jin Cho Yeon (Oh My Girl’s Arin) and Park Dang Goo (Yoo In Soo), who faced tragedy on their wedding day.
In the end, Jang Wook reveals that he had a change of heart after meeting the mysterious woman. Although previously immersed in his own sorrow and grief, Jang Wook decided to put his life on the line for the battle ahead, stating, “To protect [something or someone] at all costs, I have decided to accept this fight.”
“Alchemy of Souls” Part 2 will premiere on December 10 at 9:10 p.m. KST. Check out the new teaser for the drama below!
