YG Entertainment is gearing up to debut a new girl group!

On December 30 at 3 p.m. KST agency released a poster titled “YG NEXT MOVEMENT” along with the date January 1, 2023.

Through an official statement, YG Entertainment confirmed that the seven silhouettes in the poster are members of the agency’s upcoming new girl group.

However, YG plans to launch its newest girl group from 2019. In August 2020, YG Entertainment completed the trademark of ‘BaeMon’ alongside ‘Baby Monsters.’ Because of this, many fans have started calling YG Entertainment’s new girl group by these two names. However, many people think that this is a temporary name and the girl group will eventually debut with a different name.

In addition, many female trainees have been spotted at the YG Entertainment building in the past few years.

A few months ago, a picture allegedly shared from YG’s training room revealed more information about YG Entertainment’s new girl group.

The blackboard photo showed the initials “BM” as well as seven drawings with two letters. The first idea was that the new girl group would consist of seven members and the letters represent the initials of all the members. Many names have come up in recent years. So far, most people are speculating that these seven girls are part of YG Entertainment’s new girl group

  1. Haram/Hyerin (Korean) (2006)
  2. Prita (Thai) (2005)
  3. Rora (Korean) (2004)
  4. Ahyeon (Korean) (2002)
  5. Chikita (Thai) (2004)
  6. Asa (Japanese) (2005)
  7. Mirin (Japanese) (2004)

The second thing we noticed was a message from Yang Hyun Suk, Chairman of YG Entertainment. In a completely blunt message, he wrote: “Do you want to go home after six years of training?”

The last thing people noticed was G-Dragon’s signature, which was slightly erased. People think that G-Dragon might be involved in the production of YG Entertainment’s new girl group.

Many K-pop fans expect Teddy Park to be the main producer of YG Entertainment’s new girl group. Still, there’s a slim chance that Teddy will take care of YG’s new girl group. Teddy was the main producer and creative director of BIG BANG, 2NE1 and BLACKPINK.

However, last month THE BLACK LABEL, Teddy’s record label, confirmed that they are looking for the final member of their first girl group through a new audition.

On the other hand, YG Entertainment has many other in-house producers like CHOICE 37 and FutureBounce, so there’s a chance they’ll take care of this group. Plus, there’s a good chance that YG has started working with some new producers that the public doesn’t know about yet.

In the meantime, we should wait until January 1st for YG Entertainment to reveal more information about their upcoming girl group.

Stay tuned for updates!
